South Jersey Shore Venues We Love! Part 3: Long Beach Island
By Caitlin Boshnack
Long Beach Island is a very big island and is broken up into so many smaller towns that there could be a whole blog about it and the several wedding venues on it. We hope you enjoy the third part to our South Jersey Shore Venues featuring Bonnet Island and Surf City Yacht Club in LBI!
LBI: Bonnet Island
Kate and Brandon got married on Bonnet Island Estate in Long Beach Island in July 2012. Their ceremony was held on site in the Boathouse Chapel and the reception took place in their one and only ballroom.
The look of the bridal party was very unique, with the Maid of Honor in a different color and style than the bridesmaids. Each girl showed her own bit of personality with a different pair of heels.
Kate’s bouquet was simple and elegant, featuring white peonies and roses.
The bridal party flowers made a pop of color with pink, coral and orange hues.
Their intimate ceremony did not need much with the beautiful couple standing in front of the stone fireplace. All eyes were on Kate and Brandon.
The cocktail hour was held on the porch of the main house and decorated with round paper lanterns.
Kate’s reception details really told the couple’s story from the seating chart to the sweetheart table.
Bonnet Island’s Ballroom is simple but gorgeous with chandeliers, a wall of windows and wooden floors.
Instead of traditional favors, Kate decided to have a candy bar where each guest had the chance to choose and bag whatever candy they wanted!
After most of the festivities were over and all that was left was to dance, Kate changed into a second dress so she could boogie all night with her new husband and guests.
Kate and Brandon wanted their own private getaway wedding with nothing but their guests and water surrounding them and Bonnet Island made their dream come to life.

LBI: Surf City Yacht Club
Allison and Jamie got married in May 2012 at the Surf City Yacht Club; another unique location in Long Beach Island.
The cute couple had their first look on the beach, seconds from Surf City.
Allison’s beautiful bouquet showed off her wedding colors, blue and white and Jamie’s boutonniere even featured a starfish to go along with the beach theme.
The couple’s ceremony had an intimate ocean view setting.
This location makes for a great photo spot, with the nearby lighthouse and blue ocean views. Allison and Jamie took advantage and their photos turned out beautiful.
You could say that Jamie and Allison have a thing for cars. Jamie even wore red Jeep cuff links!
Surf City Yacht Club has a large deck, perfect for cocktail hour.
A shore wedding theme is great because there are so many creative things to do with it. Our favorites from this wedding are the decorated sea shell card box and the sand dollar guest book!
The bride and groom’s cake was adorable with sea shells, lounge chairs as the topper and a little secret that is so Allison and Jamie.
The main reception room of the SCYC is bright and cheerful with windows surrounding it.
Allison and Jamie look great together and the pictures really show that they enjoyed their special day!
You can have a one of a kind beach wedding at Surf City Yacht Club too! Just visit them here for more information!
